Created for a Unity HDRP cinematic on Qualcomm Snapdragon devices before evolving into a multi-platform technical demo.
Project Overview
This character was initially created for a real-time cinematic showcasing Unity HDRP on Qualcomm Snapdragon devices. As production evolved, the team pivoted toward a multi-platform technical demo designed to showcase the full capabilities of the hardware.
The final project included a real-time cinematic in Unity HDRP, a third-person over-the-shoulder shooter in UE4, and an AR drone experience, all connected through a shared multiplayer lobby for players to access and explore.
Role & Responsibilities
I was responsible for all aspects of character development, including:
- Hi-Poly - Initial cloth blockout in Marvelous Designer for simulation, followed by detailing, cleanup, and hard-surface refinement in ZBrush
- Optimization & Retopology - Game-ready meshes and multiple LODs created in Maya for each platform experience and player controller
- Texturing - Physically based materials authored in Substance Painter to meet platform-specific requirements
- Engine Integration - Character implementation in both Unity HDRP and Unreal Engine 4
- Lighting & Presentation - Final look development and presentation renders to support visual fidelity and marketing goals
I also sculpted the initial high-poly block-in for the drone backpack accessory, with final sculpt refinement and optimization completed by my colleague Michael Withem.
